Diz Bensley was the first person to photograph me at the start of my modeling career. He was an extremely nice, kind, warm and talented human being and he had a way of making me feel at ease even though I was a nervous wreck. We worked together a few different times at Phillips Andover; twice in his studio and once outdoors, as part of one of his photography classes. That was when I was still in high school, in the late seventies. I went on to work abroad and to this day I still model for a Boston agency. I could not have hoped for a better photographer all those years ago when I walked into his studio as a frightened teenager. He gave me some valuable tips, encouraged me, provided me with some great shots for my portfolio and was a gracious host; preparing his delicious avacado salad for which I'm sure he was famous! I just learned of his passing. The Earth's loss is Heaven's gain.
